Geo-jobs are top 3 for growth

Geo-related careers are the top 3 in the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics listing of the top 10 jobs in science and biotech:

  1. Environmental scientists
  2. Hydrologists
  3. Geoscientists
  4. Medical scientists
  5. Biochemists and biophysicists
  6. Atmospheric scientists
  7. Material scientists
  8. Physicists
  9. Astronomers
  10. Biological scientists
There is a problem with this report because it describes growth of geoscientist positions by 22% by 2016 but shows that being 6,800 new jobs in 8 years. I can't believe there will be only 850 new geoscientist jobs per year nationwide. There's a disconnect here somewhere.
