Blog posts I didn't get done in 2010

It's clean-up day around here at Arizona Geology. Defunct blogs in my blogroll have been removed and a few new ones added.

But the past 6 months have been too busy to keep up, so my level of blogging is down from the past two years. Typically, I'll get messages or run across an item during the day that I set aside to blog about later. I never got back to a lot of things. So, here is a sampling of some of the things that got my attention in the second half of 2010 that I never got back to writing about, along with links to what may have triggered them:

Outcropedia - great idea but not ready for rollout
The geoblogosphere is talking about the new online Outcropedia.org site. It describes itself as "an online public database initiated by a group of structural geologists dedicated to fieldwork. Outcropedia is sponsored by Tectask, which is the Commission on Tectonics and Structural Geology of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS). The aim of Outcropedia is to make a central, online public database of the most important and magnificent geological outcrops in the World. http://www.outcropedia.org/
