Geothermal talks online for viewing

Last Friday, Dr. Frank Horowitz, Research Professor at the University of Western Australia School of Earth and Environment, and the Western Australia Geothermal Centre of Excellence, presented two talks on geothermal energy at the Arizona Geological Survey. We recorded them and they are now online at our State Geothermal Data project website - www.stategeothermaldata.org.

"Detailed thermal profiling of Perth Basin wells: a joint inversion for thermal conductivities and heat fluxes in active sedimentary aquifers" (approximately 65 mb and 60 minutes long)

"Geothermal air conditioning opportunities in Hot Sedimentary Aquifers; the Perth Basin example” (approximately 70 mb and 60 minutes long)

The talks were webcast live via GoToMeeting.com to the AZGS-led Geothermal Data project members and invited participants nationwide.

To replay the talks on your system, just click the links above to download the Windows Media Player file. If you have never used GoToMeeting, you will need to install the “video codec” for Windows Media Player in order play the file. It can be downloaded at GoToMeeting’s website (http://www.gotomeeting.com/codec). Double-click the file to install it. You can then download and play the recorded video files.
