'Piranha 3D' touted as this generation's 'Jaws'
Okay, I admit it. I'm having way too much fun with "Piranha 3D."
The movie starts filming next Monday in Lake Havasu. Today, I see that the producer, Mark Canton (who also did "300") is quoted on MTV News saying, "We realized that with the advent of 3-D that we thought we could make the ultimate ‘Jaws’ for this generation." That's a bold standard to shoot for and one that raises expectations for a film that is touting it's plot of drunken, semi-naked teens confronting millions of crazed fish swarming out of subterranean chambers hidden for eons under the lake.
And the prehistoric fish are not going to be animatronic models, but CGI creations.
